DIGITAL PRINTS 2012 —2023
In 2007 I began using the computer as my art medium. My prints reflect my interest in complex shapes, detail, texture, and color. I work in series and develop new series each year. It’s been an exercise of my imagination, and I’ve explored different concepts and styles including narrative, still life, cartoon, realistic, and abstract.
Most of my prints originate from my photos and are nature related. Sometimes I use a single photo and other times I combine selections from multiple photos. When I choose an image, I look for one that has depth and can be manipulated. Not all images have this quality. A digital camera is a quirky tool, and a group of photos can have only one with the “it” quality. Once I select an image, I let it tell me where to go. I want my prints to reflect the beauty hidden in the natural world.
